Engineering Better Readers at Briceville Elementary
Last week, the Coal Creek Watershed Foundation kicked off its Engineering Better Readers reading initiative at Briceville Elementary School. The EBR encourages students to read books to gain points toward purchasing prizes provided by the CCWF. In order to earn the points, students must take a comprehensive test to show that they actually read the book. The students were also joined by two visitors who time traveled from our past to see them. Davy Crockett’s father and uncle spoke to the students about events in Tennessee’s history. Anderson County Mayor Terry Frank also spoke to the students.
