Fundraiser underway for ACHS track equipment
Former Anderson County High School student, Brittany Bishop, has been raising money to replace Anderson County’s pole vaulting setup. The current set-up Anderson County uses is more than 16 years old, putting it not only out of warranty, but also preventing TSSAA approval for the school to host pole-vaulting events. It also falls short of the safety standards required for future Anderson County High School track students.
Brittany Bishop is one of only 15 Mavericks to hold Tennessee state pole vaulting titles, and in July of 2019, was recognized as High School Athlete of the Year by the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame.
Currently, the donation goal is only at $550 of the $15,000 goal, and there’s been no progress in almost nine months. If you would like to contribute, the fundraiser can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/achs-pole-vault-pit-fundraiser
