Graycie Murphy had a prom night. While last Saturday was supposed to be prom night for Anderson County students, the COVID-19 pandemic caused that to be canceled. Graycie’s family uncanceled it. Her family decorated the back yard — complete with restaurant sign and candlelit table — for a special night. Graycie’s companion for this night, Blake Chapman, “was a perfect date,” Michelle Murphy wrote. The couple enjoyed a steak dinner and dancing under the lights last Saturday thanks to a family’s creativity and caring.

It’s the little things: Celebrating “Quaran’Teen” and PROM-demic 2020 need the right touches —including a cake shaped like a roll of Charmin and a table centerpiece featuring the real deal, as well as bottle of hand sanitizer. “It may not have been the senior prom she has dreamed of, but I hope we gave her some beautiful fun memories to cherish,” her mother said.
