When is this madness going to stop?
Yet, I still don’t know what’s up with the Kardashians. I don’t understand the references to “Tiger King.”
Haven’t watched. Have no plans to.
I understand the frustration of some teachers. I feel your pain. That’s from some show or movie, I don’t know which, so I’m stealing that little saying.
Does that make me a plagiarist?
I’m not a lawyer, so I don’t know.
But I played one on a home video one time.
I know teachers are missing their students — anybody would. If you ever watch a 10-year-old chucklemonkey on a video feed you’d understand.
They’re just goofy. They can’t help it.
I feel bad I have not been invited to an “album challenge,” or a “movie challenge,” and not even a “book challenge.”
Well, not really. I’m used to being the kid left out of the really fun games at school.
I have enjoyed writing about my dog, Buster. Seriously, if you knew how many times I have been told to have him “put down” because he’s a “crazy” dog, then you have to realize he has kept people AWAY from me. Extra treat for Buster after this paper goes out.
Just saying, Buster was a drive-by drop off. I call it a “drive by Bustering.” Who knows how many people couldn’t handle him before, or how he was treated (and I don’t think it was good). But dogs and small children seem to like me.
Yeah, I have no idea why, either.
But Buster has a permanent home and it’s going to stay that way. I mean, I don’t need a lot of people, but I need my Buster. He’s good for my soul.
I’ve been doing some “podcasts” with county and city officials the last couple of weeks. It’s been fun — I hope they have been informative to the residents of Anderson County. You may listen to them on our Facebook page.
I sound like a dork, but that’s OK.
I’m used to it. I try not to speak much and stay out of it. They are the ones with the information.
I mean, that’s what we’re supposed to do — more so in a pandemic like this. Keep people informed — provide information.
I think we (the collective of WYSH radio, the Oak Ridger, The Courier News) have tried our best to keep people informed. I truly believe that’s what we are supposed to do.
And I really don’t care if it sounds all “gushy-wushy goody-two-shoes” to you. I happen to believe your local news sources are the most important.
It’s been a strange welcome for two new coaches in Anderson County. The hoopla of hiring these two outstanding individuals was kinda overshadowed by COVID-19.
Talk about a kick in the pants.
The loss of Darrell Richardson at The Oak Ridger is another one of those changes that happened to get overlooked because of the COVID-19 threat.
The Courier News (and me, personally) wish him the best. The man is all class.
Hats off to Shari Wandell Bryant for the “adopt a senior” initiative.
One good act by one good person can change the world.
One person at a time.
I don’t have much more to say. I’m a little worn out.
And I really need to get my nails done.
I know you’re worn out, too. I’ve seen the memes and the jokes and lately they have become sorta strained.
The jokes aren’t as funny.
The days have been long and the nights shorter. It’s a different news cycle for the staff of The Courier News — trying to stay connected without really being connected.
I truly believe we (“we” being WYSH, The Oak Ridger, and ourselves) have done our best. It’s been a new game for us — all of us.
We’ll learn from this, we’ll adapt, we’ll overcome.
We (the same “we” as before) will update you and give you information that you need.
That’s what “we” do best.
