One piece of advice was missing
EDITOR:
In his column last week, Glenn Mollett offered several ways to avoid being harrassed by the police. E.g., don’t speed in your car. Don’t try to spend a counterfeit bill.
He omitted one crucial piece of advice: Don’t be born black.
That’s a surefire way to decrease your chances of mistreatment in the American judicial system.
Mollett needs to read the room. We are past the point where smug “they-had-it-coming” explanations of police violence will suffice. It’s embarrassing to see this kind of tripe on my local paper’s editorial page.
