Two ‘Habitats’ merge to make new affiliate

Two East Tennessee Habitat for Humanity affiliates, Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County and Roane County Habitat for Humanity, have merged after a one-year process to form a new affiliate: Clinch River Habitat for Humanity, serving both Anderson and Roane counties.

“Merging the two affiliates just made sense,” said Charlotte Bowers Cunningham, Clinch River executive director, who oversaw the merger process.

Both affiliates’ boards of directors agreed that streamlining operations and consolidating overhead expenses would have a greater impact on the community.

“What we are most excited about is our ability to now serve even more families,” Bowers Cunningham said.

Clinch River Habitat for Humanity also announces the opening of its new ReStore location at 103 First St. in Kingston.
