There will be shooting
Tennesseans For Living History will offer a weekend of family fun (and some loud noise)
Rain or shine — and it will be in late August so if you know your East Tennessee weather, then you know what to expect — Tennesseans For Living History will be holding a Revolutionary War re-enactment, living history lesson, crafts, and …
“It’s a family event,” Lynn Fox said of the event, which will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 22–23, at the David Hall Cabin, 830 Old Edgemoor Lane in the Claxton Community.
On Saturday, the event begins at 9 a.m. and will go until 10 p.m.
On Sunday, the event runs from 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
The event is free but donations will be accepted. All donations will be used for renovation of the David Hall Cabin.
“We’ll have demonstrations and we’ll talk about our history,” Fox said.
Approximately 100 re-enactors are expected to attend the event throughout the weekend.
Fox said due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social-distancing guidelines will be in place. There will also be hand sanitizing stations set up.
And only one food vendor has been called in for the event — the Clinton Lions Club.
“We’ll be very mindful of the time we live in now while celebrating times past,” Fox said.
Along with crafts and demonstrations, there will be one other added feature — “We’ll shoot a lot of guns,” Fox said.
“We always shoot a lot of guns.”
