Clinton takes a much-needed week off this Friday before they travel to Campbell County, and Anderson County hosts Chattanooga Central for a conference game after its own week away.
Anderson County currently sits at sixth in their class (4A), just behind Lexington, and sixtieth in the state, just behind Dyersburg. In the greater Knoxville area, Anderson County is ranked 11th, just behind Knoxville Catholic and just above Grace Christian. They’ve scored an average of 39 points a game against opponents this season, and stand 5-2 overall after close losses to both Powell and South-Doyle. In their district, they’re currently undefeated.
Chattanooga Central is currently 1-7, with their only win coming in a 15-7 game against Sequoyah High School. Their closest loss came to East Ridge in a game that ended 28-21 in favor of East Ridge.
Last year’s game against Chattanooga Central ended up being Anderson County’s highest scoring game of the season when the Mavs ran the score up to 72-0 before the game was over. The Pounders had a similar record last season, with their only win for the season coming against Sequoyah High School.
