Anderson County’s boys soccer team finished as the district runner-up after a 3-1 loss to Loudon.

The team still made it to region, where they were to have competed on Tuesday, May 18.

Muller Gudino teamed up with Josh Valero for the team’s only goal of the night in the final 15 minutes.

Ron Roskelly, head coach for the boys team, spoke after that game about how the team has already reached its goal for the season.

“Our early season goal was to make it into regions this year, and, as a team, we’ve done that,” he said. “I’m very proud of the boys for their hard work this season. We would have liked to win the game, but a red card against Kingston affected how we had to play the game against Loudon. The guys went into the game loose and hungry, but we just couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities that were created. Still, the guys fought until the last whistle.”

Brice Dagenhart was named the player of the year, while freshman Kaleb Wetherington was named keeper of the year. Colin Moody, Ryland Ford and Brandon Meadows were named to First Team, All-District, while Chris Nelson, Muller Gudino, and Kaleb Livingston were named to Second Team, All-District.
