Monday shooting victim released from hospital, cooperating with CPD

The victim of a drive-by shooting Monday morning at the Git ’N Go Market on Clinch Avenue in South Clinton has been interviewed by detectives with the Clinton Police Department and is “cooperating,” investigators say.

The victim’s name has not been released.

CPD reported one man was wounded around 5 a.m. May 24, and was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was described as “alert and conscious” at the scene Monday. He was released from the medical center later Monday.

Witnesses said a car pulled into the parking lot of the market and “an occupant” fired multiple shots at the victim before feeling the scene.

No arrests have been made.
