Norris Day will be held July 3
Since Independence Day falls on a Sunday this year, the annual Norris Day celebration will be held on Saturday, July 3.
Norris Day, sponsored by the Norris Lions Club, offers something for everyone of every age.
For children, there is the Kids’ Dog Show. No adults are allowed in the ring as children show off their dogs. However, there will be a crowd of adults watching as kids and dogs put their best foot and paw forward demonstrating obedience, tricks, and good looks. A new part of the dog show this year will be the “Best Dressed Dog Parade.”
There are also events for bikes and “many-wheel” cycles, as well as games on and around the Commons.
Adults and children enjoy visiting the booths that line the Commons and contain everything from baked goods to snap pops to brooms to advice on how to keep our community clean and beautiful.
At mid-day, people will begin to feel the need to sit down and re-energize by partaking of the Lions Club barbecue lunch, which will be served in the Norris Middle School Cafeteria.
Bring your chair or blanket for lounging on the Commons while you enjoy a great display of fireworks. It’s the perfect ending to a day filled with fun.
