Volunteer for the ‘Big Clinch River Cleanup’

  • Volunteers from a previous “Big Clinch River Cleanup” stand by some of the debris pulled from the river.

Clinch River Chapter of Trout Unlimited will start its annual “Big Clinch River Cleanup” event at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Museum of Appalachia with a breakfast followed by a short meeting to introduce the team leaders for the different cleanup teams.

After everyone has been introduced to their respective team leaders, they will leave the museum and begin the cleanup.

This year there will be a roadside cleanup team, a wading team, and a Kayak/canoe group.

The chapter will supply all necessary equipment, as well as water and snacks.

If you use the Clinch River, the chapter aks that you consider participating in this event.

You can sign up by sending an email to clinchriverchapter@gmail.com.

You can also e-mail the vice president of the chapter, Rusty Hallett, at hallettrusty@gmail.com or call or text him at 859- 227-1227.

The chapter invites people to “come have some fun and help clean up the river we all enjoy.”
