ACHS cross country takes part in pre-season event

While the official start to high school cross country happened at Cherokee Farms in Knoxville, the Anderson County Mavericks cross country team participated in the Dog Days Pre-Season 3200 on Saturday, Aug. 14, at West High School in Knoxville.

The event featured two heats for girls and boys. AC had runners participating in both heats. In total, 11 runners — four girls and seven boys — participated in the fast, flat-track, eight-lap course.

Kaitlyn Fisher, Soph. 11:51.90

Official results show Fisher’s first lap time of 1:23.63 as the fastest lap time of the heat. Fisher finished second in the heat.
