Road Warriors

Long road trips are the hallmark of the high school football teams in Clinton.

After picking up a major road (and region) win at South Doyle, the Anderson County Mavericks will have to be the road warriors once more as they travel to Elizabethton Friday.

Even though it’s non-region, the game could help boost the surging Mavericks’ drive for another region title. It certainly couldn’t hurt the confidence of a young team.

Game time is 7 p.m.

Likewise, the Clinton Dragons will pay a visit to Chattanooga Central at 7 p.m. Friday. The Dragons are looking to get back to their winning ways after a loss at Powell last Friday. Expect Clinton to come out on fire and find a way to come out on top.

Soccer season is winding down as Anderson County will wrap up the regular season by hosting Oak Ridge at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 5.
