Lakers will have homecoming Oct. 2

The Lakers football season is almost over, with just three games left.

After being off the week of Sept. 16, the Lakers played at Cumberland Gap Sept. 23, will be at home against Huntsville Oct. 2, and will play at Oliver Springs on Oct. 7 to wrap up the season.

The students at Lake City Middle School are talking about the upcoming 2021 Lakers football homecoming festivities, especially the new sixth-graders who have never experienced the formal homecoming event.

It is scheduled for 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at Rocky Top ballfield, 207 Jacksboro Ave. (across the street from Ace Hardware and beside the Rocky Top Public Library and Community Center).

Any young lady who attends LCMS can run for homecoming princess and queen. Candidates are getting parents’ approval, and getting their papers filled out, paying the fee of $30 and picking their escorts.

To be considered for homecoming princess are sixth- and seventh-graders; and homecoming queen are eighth-graders. Candidates and their escorts both have to have good grades, good attendance, and good behavior to be considered as candidates.

Lake City Middle English teacher Mrs. Walker is taking the forms and fees, and answering any question students or parents may have.

Information about the event also went home with students last week.
