Dozens of well-preserved or meticulously restored classic, muscle and collector cars, as well as a few motorcycles, were on display Saturday (Oct. 9) in the parking lot of Covenant Life Church in Norris.

The church’s Third Annual Car and Motorcycle Show also attracted a large number of spectators, with a steady stream of traffic coming into the church area most of the day.

Among the visitors were Claude West, Denise West and Cody West, who came from Tazewell, and Darwin Strand, of Andersonville.

They all brought their own chairs and set up at one end of the long rows of cars, nearest to the church building, and said they were enjoying the beautiful, dry and not-too-sunny weather that was perfect for a car show.

Teanya Wallace of Andersonville brought her beautifully restore baby-blue 1970 Ford Mustang convertible to show off, along with her 7-month-old granddaughter, Roselynn Profitt. It was a toss-up which one she was most proud of.

Morris Wilson of LaFollette drove his bright blue 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle to the event, and Jim Ratliff of Knoxville rolled in with his 1970 Pontiac GTO.

Jack Murrah of Knoxville brought one of the stars of the show – his beautiful fire-engine red 1955 Chevrolet sedan.

There were prizes for the best cars, along with door prizes for the spectators.
