Norris residents turned out last Friday evening for a special open house event at the city’s fire and police building, where they had the opportunity to meet police officers and firefighters, and look over the city’s firetrucks and police cruisers.

The group Citizens in Support of Norris Police and Fire helped put on the event, and provided food for the guests, including hot dogs and desserts.

Members said the event was intended to highlight renovations that have been made to the fire and police building, across from the Town Center, as well as to display new police and fire equipment.

That included a firetruck that the city of Clinton recently donated to Norris.

On hand to greet visitors were Chief of Police Mike Poole and Fire Chief Rick Roach, along with other police officers and volunteer firefighters.
