This could be a magical hoops season

The Lady Dragons and Dragons hit the hard court for the first time in regular season basketball play next week.

The Lady Dragons are coming off a strong second half last season, and bringing some strong talent led by seniors Sarah Burton, Autumn Hill and Belle Starnes.

Sarah Burton is just 196 points away from breaking Head Coach Alicia Phillips’ career record at Clinton, and committed to continue her collegiate career at the University of Virginia-Wise after she graduates. Complimenting those seniors are Juniors Parris Booker, and Addison DelCarmen, Sophomores Katelyn McKeehan and Maggie Stokes.

There is also a strong Freshmen class helping the Lady Dragons this year, coming off a Second-round game in the Sectional Tournament! Those Freshmen include Baily Burroughs, Cadence Crowley, Ashaunti Davis, Sydney Herrell, Elly LEander and Ally York.

The Dragons are very Senior heavy this year after bringing everyone back from their second-round Region tournament appearance. Led by Jackson Garner, a tremendous shooter from all-around, mainly deep range, and Lane Harrisona 6’6 Forward/Guard, both of which have offers to play at the next level, the Dragons look like they will make a strong run in their new region this year.

Seniors Trace Thackerson, Hunter Rupert, Jeremiah Blauvelt, Rishon Bright, Tyler Morgan, and Rodayvien ‘Dodi’ Truss have been working hard all Summer trying to get the younger players ready. Juniors Brent Reynold and Barrett Maddox and Freshmen Teegan Bolinger and Jeremiah Lee round out the Varsity roster this season.

The Lady Dragons and Dragons kickoff their season on the road at McMinn County Friday, the 19th before the Lady Dragons come home Saturday the 20th and play Austin East, while the Dragons stay on the road one more game against Sevier County, and come home for a game the 23rd against Powell.
