Mavs beat Oakdale, then split weekend set

On Monday, the Anderson County Mavericks won 85-70 at Oakdale.

The Mavs took a 25-21 lead in the first quarter only to see it evaporate in the second quarter as the Eagles took a 45-42 halftime lead. Anderson County responded with a huge third quarter and took a 63-56 lead. The Mavs outscored Oakdale 22-14 down the stretch and took the win.

Bryson Vowell led all scorers with 20 points, while Connor Martin added 13 points, Carter Nelson 12 points, and Brandon Dake 11 points.

On Friday, the Mavs beat the visiting Knoxville Ambassadors 82-43.

Anderson County took a 20-10 lead in the first quarter and never looked back as they built a 37-25 halftime lead. They put the game out of reach in the third quarter as their lead swelled to 62-35. The Ambassadors managed just eight points in the fourth quarter as the Mavs coasted to the win.

Connor Martin and Brandon McGhee each had a game-high 22 points.

On Saturday, the Mavs suffered a 79-32 loss at Fulton.

The Falcons took control of the game early as they got out to a 22-8 first-quarter lead and led 47-21 at the half.

Fulton extended its lead to 69-28 in the third quarter and went to the win.
