CHS tennis set to have fun this season

A new season has opened for the Clinton High School tennis team.

Head Coach Matt Neal said this year’s team will have nine girls and six boys.

The boys have four seniors and two returning juniors, bringing experience. Neal said the girls are a mixture of new and experienced players.

Junior Caleb Haney figures to be the No. 1 boys player.

“He put together a pretty strong season last year as a sophomore in our district,” Neal said. “This year, we expect him to do some heavy lifting on the boys’ side in our district.”

His top player for the girls is Reagan Marsee.

“I look for her to have some fun this year,” Neal said.

He said the doubles teams for boys and girls will be pretty strong this season.

Like other sports, Clinton tennis is in a new district this season.

The district now includes Halls, Knox West, Knox Central, Fulton, Campbell County, and Gibbs.
