Two die in crash on Norris Freeway

Two people died in a 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, two-vehicle crash on Norris Freeway.

Cynthia (50) and Larry Earley (52) of Heiskell died as a result of the crash according to the Highway Patrol.

The crash took place on U.S. 441 at the Hinds Creek Road intersection in Anderson County.

The report shows that the Earleys were in a Chevrolet Sonic making a left turn onto the freeway. The car failed to yield to traffic before a Dodge pickup truck smashed into it at an angle.

THP said the Chevrolet failed to yield and was hit by the Dodge, leading the Chevrolet to spin into the road before coming to a stop in the roadway. The Dodge went off the road into the ditch before it came to a stop in the road.

The Chevrolet was driven by Cynthia with Larry listed as a passenger in the crash report.

Both occupants of the car were buckled up at the time of the collision. The driver of the truck, Denisa Tataru, 25, Knoxville, who was the only occupant, was unharmed in the accident.

No additional information has been provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
