Jackson Garner, one of the best basketball players ever to wear the uniform of the Clinton Dragons, signed a scholarship with Maryville College on April 14.

“It’s been a dream of mine ever since I was little to play at the next level,” Garner said. “Signing today with Maryville College to further my academics and basketball career is awesome.”

He has not chosen a major.

“I’m super proud of him,” said his father, Jeremy Garner. “He’s put in the work, he started playing at the YMCA at 4 years old. To see this come to fruition playing the game he loves and the fact he’s going to a great school, I’m proud.”

“This is great.” said Chris Lockard, head coach of the Dragons.

“We’ve signed a lot of athletes to the next level. You always love to see them advance in the sport that they love and the biggest thing is they’re going to have a chance to further their education,”
