Competing, honors, and summer camps

Alvis beats the odds



Kylee Alvis competed for the last time for the Anderson County High School Lady Maverick track and field team at the national high school competition last weekend. The competition was extremely high and she was only ranked 27th in the shot coming into the meet, but Alvis placed 16th, showing how far she’s progressed in two years in the sport.



All Region baseball



Anderson County High School’s Luke Lowery, Clinton High School’s Conner Moody, and Oliver Springs High School’s Jacob Hileman were named to the TNBballRprt all-region baseball team.

Not only did Connor Moody make all-region, he signed a baseball scholarship last week with the University of Pikeville (Kentucky) Bears. The speedy former Dragon (now Bear) led the state in stolen bases in his senior year with CHS.





ACHS football camp



Anderson County High will hold “full pad” football camp from 7-9 p.m. July 11-14.
