‘Purses and Pearls’ luncheon set Aug. 23
The third-annual Anderson County Chamber of Commerce Purses & Pearls Luncheon is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, and will include a live auction of designer purses and pearl jewelry.
Some of the proceeds from the event, presented by Kimball’s Jewelers, go to support the Purses & Pearls of Anderson County Scholarship Fund.
The focus of the luncheon is on young women planning professional careers, according to the chamber.

Lunch will be catered by Hanna’s Inc.

Local auctioneer Bear Stephenson will conduct the sale. There also will be door prizes, and a photobooth, along with networking opportunities for attendees.

Master of ceremonies will be Tearsa Smith, anchor of Knoxville TV station WATE’s “Good Morning, Tennessee” show.
The keynote speaker will be Joan Cronan, athletic director-emeritus of the University of Tennessee. She was women’s athletic director at UT from 1983-2012, then became athletic director and vice chancellor before retiring.
