Municipal races set for Nov. 8 in City of Clinton

There will be new faces on the next Clinton City Council, after the Nov. 8 municipal election.

Only one incumbent, Brian Hatmaker in Ward 2, is seeking re-election and he is running unopposed.

In Ward 1, David W. Queener and Vicki Violette are running for the council seat. E.T. Stamey is not seeking re-election.

In Ward 3, there are three candidates seeking a seat on council.

Wendy Maness, Harper M. Maxwell, and Mitchell “Shoney” Maxwell are seeking a council seat. Councilman Zach Farrar is not seeking re-election to council, but is instead running for Clinton mayor against incumbent Scott Burton.

One Clinton Board of Education seat will go unchallenged.

Lorie Ann Wilson is running unopposed for the Ward 1 seat.

Two have qualified to run for the Ward 2 Board of Education seat, Timothy A. Bible and Curtis W. Isabell.

The last day to qualify for the Nov. 8 Clinton Municipal Election was Aug. 18.
