Horace Maynard gives Lakers second straight loss
The Lake City Middle School football team lost its second consecutive game Thursday night as it came up on the short end of a 42-14 decision against Horace Maynard.
After defeating Jellico in their season opener on Aug. 18, the Lakers lost to Norris on Saturday, Aug. 27.
First-year head Coach Eric Tackett said that Lake City (1-2) didn’t have its best game against the Red Devils.
“We just didn’t play very well,” Tackett said. “We just had too many mistakes.
“Hopefully, we will get them ready for Thursday.”
Lake City will open its league season Thursday night at home when it hosts LaFollette.
Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
Tyler Pitsenbarger and Joey Radford had long touchdown runs against Horace Maynard.
