Davy Crockett

expert will speak

in Norris

Davy Crockett historian Scott Williams will be the guest speaker at the Norris Christian Fellowship on Sunday, Oct. 16, from 2-4 p.m.

Williams will make a presentation on the early frontier hero who was fictionalized by Walt Disney as “Davy Crockett.”

Williams will share what propelled Crockett’s fascinating journey from frontier to fame to international icon, while also examining the birth of Tennessee during one of the most fascinating periods of American history.

Admission is free and everyone is welcome. An autograph session will follow the presentation.

The Norris Christian Fellowship is at 23 Dogwood Road in Norris.

Women’s Club hosts meet-and-greet

The Anderson County Democratic Women’s Club will host a “meet and greet” for Jim Dodson, candidate for state representative in District 33, from 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Shoney’s, 2405 N. Charles Seivers Blvd., Clinton.

The Democratic Women’s Club invites anyone interested in meeting Dodson and talking about issues to stop by Shoney’s on Saturday.
