City of Rocky Top ‘Trunk or Treat’



The city of Rocky Top is hosting a “Trunk or Treat” event beginning at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at George Templin Field, 216 North Main St.

There will be food, games, door prizes, candy, bounce houses, and pumpkin carving beginning at 5:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m., Rocky Top Mayor Tim Sharp is sponsoring a showing of the movie, “Ghost Busters: Afterlife.”

There will also be a kids’ costume contest.





Free expungement clinic



There will be a free expungement clinic and voter-registration event from 9-11:30 a.m. at Anderson County General Sessions Court, Division II, 728 Emory Valley Road, Oak Ridge.

Please bring a photo ID and any court-related documents.

You may be eligible for a free record of expungement if:

• You had charges against you dismissed.

• A “no true bill” was returned by the grand jury.

• You were arrested and released without being charged

• You went to trial and that resulted in a “not guilty” verdict.

• You successfully completed your diversion (filing fees may apply).

• The case resulted in a nolle prosequi.

Note: This is only for charges filed in Anderson County.

The event is sponsored by the Anderson County Bar Association, League of Women Voters, Anderson County NAACP, and the Public Defender’s Office.

Willow Brook Baptist ‘Thanks-Giving-Away’



Everyone is invited to Willow Brook Baptist Church’s annual “Thanks-Giving-Away” Saturday, Nov. 19.

Food boxes, clothes, shoes, household items, toys and miscellaneous items are all available to anyone at no cost.

The event begins at 8 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m. Willow Brook is in Rocky Top, just off of Interstate I-75 Exit 129.





Appalachian Arts Craft Center supper



Appalachian Arts Craft Center in Clinton is hosting its annual chili supper fundraiser from 5:30-7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Norris Community Building, 20 Chestnut Road.

Come out and support the Clinton Lady Dragons basketball team at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2022.

The team is holding a chili supper and auction in the Clinton High School Café.





Claxton Community ‘Trunk or Treat’



Claxton Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a community appreciation Trunk or Treat event at Claxton Community Park from 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29.

This event is free and open to the public as a public service for the Claxton community.
