CHS sends nine wrestlers to sectionals

Calling all wrestling fans: Nine male Clinton wrestlers are one step away from qualifying for state.

The Dragons took third place in the region tournament Saturday at Gibbs High School, finishing anywhere from second to fifth in their respective weight classes.

Leading the way for the Dragons were senior Tailen Scott and juniors Riley Silk and Parker Sanchez — each with second-place finishes.

Next up included senior Riley Webb, juniors Caleb Kendall and Justice Snyder, along with sophomore Dalton Kendall — with third-place finishes.

Senior Dylan Spurlock and junior Matson Kent finished fourth in their weight classes, also qualifying for sectionals.

Keagan Bolen had a great season, finishing fifth in a-hard fought consolation semi-final match.

These nine Dragons will travel to Elizabethton Saturday for sectionals, and fight for a spot to qualify for the state tournament.
