New family medicine practices opens in OR
Methodist Family Medicine Clinic, a new practice in Oak Ridge opened to patients as of Feb. 6, 2023. The clinic joins Covenant Medical Group, the physician practice group of Covenant Health.
James Schindler, MD, MPH, leads the clinic, which currently accepting new patients of all ages. He is board-certified in family medicine with clinical interests in public health, geriatrics, mental health and sports medicine. Dr. Schindler has nearly 40 years of experience in family medicine and previously practiced at Hamblen Primary Care in Morristown.
Family medicine is a branch of internal medicine that is able to treat patients of all ages with a deeper understanding of the patient’s medical history. It provides comprehensive, continuous care for the duration of a person’s life, such as diagnosing and treating acute illnesses, offering preventive care like immunizations and screening tests, and managing chronic illnesses.
Methodist Family Medicine Clinic will be located at 200 New York Ave., Westmall Medical Park, Suite 250 in Oak Ridge and be open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., with a lunch break from noon to 1 p.m. For an appointment or more information, call 865-835-5850.
