Movement to form Anderson County honor guard underway
Wanted: A few good veterans.
At present, there is no veterans’ honor guard in Anderson County to provide military honors for veterans’ funerals in the county. Funeral directors have to call on honor guards from Knoxville or Campbell County. But a movement is underway to recruit veterans to form an honor guard here.
Plans are to provide a bugler, pallbearers and a rifle squad.
To have enough people available on short notice, at least 20 volunteers are needed.
