Rams move to 3-0
Robertsville Middle School football coach Tyler Carr has to like what he’s seen from the Rams thus far during the 2023 season.
Robertsville improved to 3-0 this year as they won their first road game of the season, shutting out Lenoir City, 12-0 Thursday night.
The contest was the first of three consecutive road games for the Rams, who opened the 2023 campaign with back-to-back wins over Clinton and Christian Academy of Knoxville in the friendly confines of Blankenship Field.
“We were in a defensive struggle and Lenoir City has a good team with and they have a unique offense,” Carr said. “This was a whole new ball game for us, being on the road. Defensively, we played well.
“I was pleased with our effort. So far, things have gone well for us, but this three-game stretch on the road for us and these games are important for us.”
Quarterback Whit Renegar helped the Rams pass the first of their three consecutive road tests as he ran for one touchdown and threw for another, connecting with Liam Gerber on a scoring strike.
Robertsville played at Spring City Tuesday night but results were not available. The Rams will be in action on Thursday, Aug. 31 when they travel to Cherokee. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
