Lake City Middle School cross country runner Jackson Brown posted a personal best time in the Fall Classic Saturday at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville.

Brown, an eighth-grader for the Lakers, completed the two-mile course in northwest Knoxville in 21 minutes, 46.07 seconds, and finished 296th overall.

Other finishers for Lake City included Josh Hall, who crossed the finish line in 22:20.38, and Malachi King, who finished 334th with a time of 24:59.51.

The Lady Lakers had six runners compete in Knoxville Saturday.

Cindle Justice was Lake City’s top finisher as she crossed the finish line in 73rd place, posting a time of 16:41.06.

Rachel Garbes was 134th (18:39.49). Kadee Gross came in 182nd (20:20.40). Autumn Poore (28:31.77) finished 267th. Carlie Lang was 269th with a time of 28.42.55, while Bella York was 282nd (39:05.33).
