Lady Senators get a Top 15 finish at Victor Ashe Park
A Norris Middle School sixth-grader posted a Top 15 finish at the Fall Classic invitational cross country meet Saturday at Victor Ashe Park in northwest Knoxville.
The Lady Senators’ Elle Taylor completed the two-mile course in 14 minutes, 41.48 seconds. Her effort netted her a 13th-place finish in the event, which had high school, middle school and elementary school races.
Kimberlin Lassiter came in 196th with a time of 21:22.96.
Sarah Lane finished in 213th place (22:24.77). Eloise Doepker was 216th (22:49.41).
Gracelyn Mitchell was 222nd (22:55.51). Emma Owens finished 235th (23:43.02). Cassie Newman posted a time of 23:56.41 and came in 236th.
Ashelyn finished 257th (26:41.10) and Memphis Goins (29:19.82) came in 272nd.
The Norris boys were also in action Saturday.
Avian Laster was the top finisher for the Senators as he crossed the finish line in 14 minutes, 17.37 seconds.
Steven Johnson came in 178th (16:44.90). Crosby Edrington finished 297th (21:56.15). Parker Zaruba posted a 319th-place finish as he completed the two-mile course in 23:35.89.
Garland Mounger took 343rd place with a time of 28:01.27 and Grayson Johnson came in 348th (31:38.43).
