Norris ‘Halloween Trail’ to be Oct. 28; ‘Halloween on the Commons,’ Oct. 31

Two big Halloween activities are planned in Norris this year.

First, for the third year in a row, the “Norris Halloween Trail” event will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, starting outside the Norris Community Center at 20 Chestnut Drive.

It’s described as a spooky tour for kids through the woods around the Norris Disc Golf Course, which is next to the Community Center.

The mild hike with Halloween-style decorations, treats and “spooky fun” will include more than 20 “stations” where kids can stop for an activity, including such spots as the “Haunted Doghouse.”

Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. There will be treats available, as well as food trucks in the parking lot.

Advance registration is required for the Halloween Trail, and can be done through the Norris Recreation Commission’s Facebook page or at NorrisHalloweenTrail.Eventbrite.com.

The second event will be the annual “Halloween on the Commons” party from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Lions Club Pavilion downtown.

It will include a free hot dog supper, annual group photo, and Halloween fun, according to the Recreation Commission, which also sponsors this event.

Again, children are requested to come in costumes for the party.
