Dragons CC season concludes Prep begins for 2024 season

Clinton High School’s boys cross country team saw its 2023 season come to an end on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Region 1-A/AA championships.

But with all their athletes looking to return in 2024, the Dragons quickly turned the page.

“Our guys all really ran really well, “Clinton Coach Tim Kumes said. “And now, they know what they have to do and they know that they have to put the work in over the summer and they’re all looking forward to coming out to run distance on the track team.”

Caleb Holt was the top finisher for Clinton at the region championships. He finished the 5,000-meter course in 21 minutes, 00.75 seconds and crossed the finish line in 43rd place.

Finishing just behind Holt, was Cooper Bostrom, who came in 44th and posted a time of 21:03. 12. Lucas Gates finished 53rd (22:07.51). Max Bostrom claimed 64th, clocking in at 23:59.65. Nathan Angel was 76th (26:13.16) and Gideon Follett finished 78th (26:34.37).

The Lady Dragons’ Summer Wilson competed at the region championships and finished 32nd (27:22.22).
