All-district honors
Lady Dragons, Lady Wildcats recognized by league coaches
Both Clinton and Oak Ridge were highly represented on the All-District 3-AAA Volleyball Team.
The Lady Dragons went 26-11 in 2023 and cruised through a district regular-season schedule, going a perfect 12-0 in league matches, losing just one set in district competition.
Clinton also won the district tournament championship and hosted the Region 2-AAA tournament for the first time in program history. Clinton also won the district tournament for the first time.
Clinton’s Josie Moody was named the league’s Most Valuable Player; Darbi Brummett, Hitter of the Year; and Lady Dragons Coach Lorri Johnson was named Coach of the Year.
CHS was also represented on the all-district team by McKenzie Crisp, Riley Owens, Zavie Ford and Ellie Murrell.
The Lady Wildcats finished second in the league’s regular-season standings before falling to Powell in the tournament semifinals.
Oak Ridge’s Peyton Uptgraft was named the league’s Setter of the Year, and Marissa Kenworthy claimed Defensive Specialist of the Year.
ORHS had Maggie Williams, Camryn McGinnis and Christian McGinnis named to the all-district team.
Honorable mentions were tendered to three Lady Dragons: Lanee Carmichael, Keagan Skaggs and Tomi Taylor.
Oak Ridge had Ali Rickard receive an honorable mention.
Tayor and Lady Wildcat Shea Arline were named to the district’s All-Academic Team.
