Three Wildcats make it to the ‘Grand Stage’

Job, Greenhalgh, Hovater compete at Sanders Ferry Park course

Oak Ridge High School had three athletes compete on the state’s grand cross country stage last week in Hendersonville.

ORHS had one girl and two boys qualify for the Class AAA state championships Thursday at Sanders Ferry Park in the Midstate.

For the Lady Wildcats, sophomore Dylan Job made her second consecutive appearance at the state championships.

She finished 49th and she completed the 5,000-meter course in 19 minutes, 52.33 seconds.

In the boys race, Oak Ridge’s Mason Greenhalgh came in 74th as he posted a time of 17:08.69.

Rhett Hovater was 96th as he completed the race in 17:26.28.
