Jackson to play for Green at Roane State

Former Lady Wildcats soccer standout Mag- gie Jackson will reunite with her former coach at Roane State next season.
Since being named women’s soccer coach at Roane State Community College, Donnie Green has been busy building his 2024 roster for the coming season.

He’ll be reunited with one of his former players in the fall as Maggie Jackson has transferred from East Tennessee State to play for the Lady Raiders.

Jackson, a forward, played for Green at Oak Ridge High School before graduating in 2023.

She’ll have two years of eligibility for the Lady Raiders after redshirting last season at ETSU, and she’s enrolling at Roane State to play for Green.

“I got a phone call and she said that she wanted to come back and play for me,” said Green, who guided the Lady Wildcats to the 2023 Region 2-AAA tournament semifinals, where they were eliminated by eventual state champion Bearden, which has won three consecutive state titles.

“She is from the Class of 2023 and she’s my first recruit from Oak Ridge,” Green said.

In addition to signing Jackson, Green has picked up signees from McMinn County, Harriman and Gibbs High in Corryton.
