Dragons fall to Oak Ridge, face district opponent Gibbs on Friday
Clinton High School’s boys basketball team played just one game last week and things didn’t go particularly well for the Dragons.
They fell to in-county rival and one-time district foe Oak Ridge 65-35 at the Don W. Lockard Gymnasium on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Clinton (4-10) fell behind the Wildcats (14-5) 16-8 in the first quarter, and never recovered.
The Dragons trailed 31-21 at halftime, before the Wildcats closed out the game with a flourish, outscoring Clinton 34-14 after the break.

Jeremiah Lee added eight.
Kaden Ison finished with five.
The Wildcats had three players post double figures in the scoring column.
They were led by Garrett Giles with 13 points.

Clinton, which has a 1-1 District 4-AAA record, returns to league play this week.
The Dragons were to host Scott Tuesday, but results were not available at press time.
Clinton travels to Corryton to face Gibbs Friday. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
