Two Anderson County High School volleyball players were honored by the state’s sportswriters recently as the Tennessee Sports Writers Association announced its Class AA All-State Volleyball Team.

Lady Mavericks’ seniors Jaylynn Bullock and Faith Graham were selected to the teams as Anderson County swept through the District 4-AA regular-season schedule and won the district tournament.

ACHS, which went 32-13 overall and 10-0 in district play in 2023, won the Region 2-AA Tournament. The Lady Mavs also avenged their 2022 state sectional loss to Greeneville on their way to a state tournament appearance. Anderson County reached the Class AA State Semifinals in Murfreesboro.

Bullock, a setter, who will continue her volleyball career at Roane State Community College, recorded 1,011 assists in 2023 and was an all-district standout. She also amassed 377 digs and 64 service aces on her way to being named the district’s Co-Most Valuable Player. She also earned Most Valuable Player honors in the region.

Graham, a middle blocker for the Lady Mavericks, was an all-district performer and a member of the district’s postseason all-tournament team.

She shared district Co-MVP honors with Bullock and was an all-region performer as she had 175 kills and 87 blocks during 2023.
