Anderson County Coach Matt Slone said he was pleased with his team’s effort at the state duals.
“This was only the second time that we’ve ever been, and the first time, we were in the large schools (division), and we got hammered pretty good twice,” Slone said. “We won a match down there, and we had a good weekend.
“I’m happy because we went down there and finished in the top six, and it’s great to have one of the top six teams in the state,” he said.
“Our program is not quite where we’d like it to be. But take nothing away from these kids. This is a special group. Our guys all cheer for each other.”
