Wildcats fall to Beavers, roar past Cougars
Oak Ridge High School’s boys basketball team split a pair of District 3-4A games last week.
The Wildcats (20-6 overall, 8-1 in the district) opened the week with a road loss at Karns on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The Wildcats fell to the Beavers 61-56.
With the victory at home, the Beavers salvaged a regular-season split with the Wildcats. Oak Ridge won the first game between the two rivals this season. The Wildcats, however, have lost two of their last three meetings against the Beavers.

With that win, Oak Ridge completed the regular-season sweep of the Cougars and notched the 57th 20-win campaign since 1946.
Three Wildcats scored in double figures against Campbell County Friday night. Caden Brightharp led the way with 18 points. Garrett Giles added 14, and Charlie Tauberheim finished with 11.
It was a potent and balanced attack for the Wildcats. Ray’Quan Watson had nine points, Malik Howard added eight and Williams finished with six.
