Lady ’Cats beat Karns, Campbell County

A perfect District 3-4A record remained intact for the Oak Ridge High School girls basketball team last week.

The Lady Wildcats notched a pair of easy victories, winning against Campbell County and Karns by a combined 60 points.

On Friday night, Oak Ridge (14-7 overall, 8-0 in the district) topped the Lady Cougars 61-32 in a make-up game at Wildcat Arena.

Ayana Porter led the Lady Wildcats with 17 points against Campbell County as she knocked down five three-point shots along the way,

Ze’Yana Stewart added 16 points, and Jenayah Pippins finished with 11 against Campbell County.

The Lady Wildcats opened the week with a road win at Karns, dismantling the Lady Beavers 87-56.

Stewart scored 27 points against Karns.

Porter added 22 points, and Euleesha Mitchell finished with 19.

On Monday, the Lady Wildcats made the trip to North Knoxville’s Fountain City community to play Knox Central. Results were unavailable at press time, but a win would clinch the league championship.

Oak Ridge closes out district play at home against Powell before hosting Fulton Saturday.

Tipoff for both games is set for 6:30 p.m.
