Wildcats beat Beavers 6-0 in district opener

The winning streak reached four matches for the Oak Ridge High School boys soccer team last week.

The Wildcats took the pitch just once last week as they opened District 3-AAA play against Karns and notched a 6-0 victory over the Beavers Thursday night.

Oak Ridge (4-2 overall, 1-0 in the district) now has a league win and a tournament championship in Cleveland after losing its first two matches to Chattanooga Baylor and Hardin Valley Academy.

Against the Beavers, Eli Lynch scored twice. Emmett Lee, Gabe Weber, Ayden Clements and Andrew Coffee also tallied for the Wildcats.

In an attempt to avoid inclement weather predicted for Tuesday, the Wildcats and Campbell County moved their match in Jacksboro to Monday. Results were not available at press time.

The Wildcats host Knoxville Halls on Thursday. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
