Track Mavs make top marks at Safe Place meet

Anderson County High School’s track teams were in action at Farragut High School Saturday.

The Lady Mavericks had several athletes post Top 20 marks in their respective events in West Knox County.

Bralee Hall finished 14th in the 400-meter dash and took 20th in the 200-meter run.

Hall was one of three ACHS athletes to finish in the Top 20 in the 400 as Macy Basford took 13th and Lily Trent came in 16th.

Kaitlyn Fisher, Marley Caldwell, Sydney Day, Trent and Morgan Lindsay all finished inside the Top 20 in the 800-meter run.

Fisher came in seventh in the 1,600-meter run (5:52.93) and Morgan Haire placed 13th (6:09.11).

Ava Moody won the 3,200-meter run as she completed the event in 10 minutes, 56.16 seconds.

Day took eighth in the long jump with a leap of 12 feet, 11.5 inches.

In the boys meet, ACHS had three athletes post Top 20 marks in the 100-meter dash. Two runners cracked the Top 10. Waylon LaRue finished eighth (11.31 seconds. Bryce Leatherwood was ninth (24.33) and Joseph Hall was 18th (11.92).

LaRue was fourth in the 200-meter dash as he crossed the finish line in 23.22 seconds. Leatherwood took 13th (24.33) and Joseph Hall finished 18th (24.99).

Preston McClung finished 16th in the 400-meter dash (57.78) and Brian Hall was 19th (1:00.12).

In the 800-meter run, Ryan Basford was eighth; Ben Clotfelder was 10th. Toby Day was 16th and Cameron Hardy was 20th.

In the 1,600-meter run, Vance Laster finished eighth. Hardy came in 11th and Ethan Bolton finished in 19th place.

In the 3,200-meter run, John Cutler finished 13th (10:47.56). Franklin Downs was 15th (11:58.94) and Zander Vo was 16th (12:49.89).

Ace Dunegen was seventh in the high jump (5-6). Joseph Hall finished third in the long jump (20-8.5), Luke Dark came in second in the shot put (59-6).
