Wildcats hosts meet

The Oak Ridge track teams hosted a meet on Wednesday, April 24 and both the Lady Wildcats and Wildcats posted some top marks running on their home tracks.

The Oak Ridge girls had three sprinters finish in top-10 in the 100-meter dash, Seven Pettus came in second as she clocked a time of 12.38 seconds. Vanelle Wandji was seventh (13.69) and Kommon Wallace finished ninth (13.73).

Wallace was second in the 200-meter dash and Wandji came in third. In the 400-meter dash, Natalie Adams took fourth (1:07.09) and Katherine Laffoon claimed fifth (1:07.27).

Elly Hartman took seventh in the 800-meter run, while the Lady Wildcats boasted two top finishers in the 1,600-meter run. Emily Edwards won the event as she posted a time of 5:51.00. Hailey Moore was sixth (6:57.00).

Oak Ridge claimed the top two spots in the 3,200-meter run as Dylan Job won the event and Lillian Tice took second.

Sophie Hughes took second in the discus (112-1) and won the shot put competition (32-6.75). Olivia Land finished second in the shot put with an effort of 31-4.75.

For the boys, Almani Rembert won the 100-meter dash (11.41 seconds). Tyree Porter was sixth (12.30) and Alex Pavon claimed ninth (12.37). Porter was also second in the 200-meter dash and Rhett Hovater was second in the 400-meter dash.

Evan Brewer won the 3,200-meter run and Aaron Fiscor was second.

Isaiah Porter posted a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (16.44 seconds).

Xavier Harper won the high jump competition with a leap of 5-8.

In the long jump, Rembert finished second (19-11). Tyree Porter took fourth (19-7) and Isaiah Porter was sixth (19-3).

Jayden Early was seventh in the shot put (34-1.5) and ninth in the discus (94-11).
