Dale Legg Meet 2024

Mavericks, Dragons post top marks at meet

Clinton High School and An- derson County both competed

in the Dale Legg Track Meet on Friday at Anderson County High School,

Both the boys and girls from Clinton posted some top marks. The Lady Dragons had three

athletes post top-10 marks in the 100-meter dash as Sadie Haney came in second with a time of 13.62 seconds. Laci Clevenger fin- ished seventh (14.36) and Ryleigh White took ninth as she crossed the finish line in 15.13.

In rhe 200-meter dash, Ryleigh Moquin was seventh as she posted a time of 31.82. McKenzie Sharp was 10th (33.28).

In the 1,600-meter run, Sum- mer Wilson took ninth as she crossed the finish line in 6:33.48. Alli Hollifield was 10th (6:44.09).

Haney also won the triple jump (31 feet, 9 inches) and 100-meter hurdles (16.65 seconds). She was third in the long jump with a leap of12-4.25).

Andrea Brockelman posted a top-10 mark in the discus, while Kenzlee Hutchison won the shot put (29-6). Hannah Whittley (21- 1.5) came in sixth in the shot put.

In the boys meet, Clinton’s Rylie Brewer took ninth in the 400-meter dash as he finished the lap in 1:02.69). Xavier Porter was 10th (1:05.64).

In the 800-meter run the Drag- ons got a seventh-place finish from Noah Ortiz and a ninth- place finish from Lucas Gates.

Cooper Bostrom was ninth

in the 1,600-meter run (5:32.63). Max Bostrom came in fifth in the 3,200-meter run as he completed the race in 13.21.57).

Dragons’ junior Lucas Butz swept the hurdles competi-

tions as he took first in both

the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. He also fin- ished fourth in the shot put (34-6).

Clinton had two athletes finish in a third-place tie in the high jump competition as Donnavin Pencek and Austin Steen both cleared 5-0. The Dragons’ Dylan Phillips claimed fifth in the event as he cleared 4-10.

Pencek was also second in the long jump, while Steen finished third.

Kevin Colwell was 10th in the discus (70-11).

The Lady Mavericks had two athletes post top marks in the 100-meter dash as Bralee Hall came in sixth (12.99) and Macy Basford was eighth (14.46).

Anderson County dominated the 200-meter dash as Hall took third, Basford came in fifth, Cate Clotfelter was sixth and Carla Hanna finished eighth.

Basford was fourth in the 400-meter run. Lily Trent was fifth. Clotfelter was sixth and Hanna was eighth.

In the 800-meter run, Sydney Day finished fifth, followed by Marley Caldwell (sixth) and Mor- gan Haire (seventh). Trent took ninth in the event.

In the 1,600, Ava Moody was the winner. Kaitlyn Fisher

was fifth. Haire took sixth and Caldwell came in seventh. Moody also won the 3,200, while Fisher finished fourth.

Day won the long jump (12-0.5) and Anna Gross finished sixth (10-1.5).

In the boys 100-meter dash, the Mavericks swept the first three spots. Waylon LaRue (11.05) won the event. Bryce Leatherwood was second (11.32) and Joseph Hall was third (11.98).

Anderson County also took the top three spots in the 200 as LaRue, Leatherwood and Hall all finished in the same order as they did in the 100.

Ryan Basford won the 400-me- ter dash (54.49) Brian Hall was fourth and Landon Rainey was fifth.

Ben Clotfelter won the 800-me- ter run (2:09.18). The Mavs also claimed the top two spots in the 1,600 as John Cutler was first and Cameron Hardy was second.

Vance Lsaster won the 3,200 and Zander Vo was third.

Ace Dunegan won the high jump, while Joseph Hall posted a top mark in the long jump.

Luke Dark won both the shot put and the discus.
