Lady ’Cats drop game to AC in season finale

After entering the week on a three-game winning streak, the Oak Ridge High School softball team lost both its games last week.

The Lady Wildcats closed out their regular season with an 11-4 loss to Anderson County on Monday, April 29.

Morgan Perry and Gloria Rust each had two hits for Oak Ridge in its regular-season finale against the Lady Mavericks. Perry doubled, while Rust had an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.

Brenna Bradshaw had a hit, scored a run and stole a base.

Eden Hatmaker was 1-for-4. She drove in a run, scored and stole a base.

Kaylee Hickman had a single and an RBI.

The Lady Wildcats opened District 3-4A tournament play with a 7-0 loss to Knox Central Friday night at Powell High School.

Bradshaw, Oak Ridge’s leadoff hitter and shortstop, had the only hit of the contest for the Lady Wildcats.
