Lions recognize Miller for his service

Global Service Chair Connie Emmons and Clinton Lions Secretary Neal Vaughan recently presented Lion Fred Miller with awards for service to the community.
Lion Fred Miller, a dedicated member of the Clinton Lions Club, epitomizes community service through myriad endeavors, the club says.

In recognition of his exemplary service, Miller was recently honored by the Lions of the state of Tennessee with a “Roar for Service” pin, and he received a service pin from the Lions of East Tennessee.

From constructing wheelchair ramps and advocating for accessible buildings to administering vision screenings in Clinton City and Anderson County schools, his commitment knows no bounds, according to a club announcement.

Additionally, he takes on roles such as grilling hamburgers and hotdogs for community events and portraying Lonnie the Lion at schools and events like the annual Cookie Crawl on Market Street in December. His efforts extend further as he collects scrap metal to support Diabetic Alert Dogs and ensures families in need receive Thanksgiving meals.

Miller serves on the board of directors of the East Tennessee Lions Eye Bank, further demonstrating his dedication to enhancing community welfare. His unwavering commitment to service aligns perfectly with the Lions Motto, “We Serve.”

Congratulations, Lion Fred, on this well-deserved recognition.
